About This Special Issue
The growing acceptability of IoT environments motivates researchers in this field to make the IoT environment more suitable for constrained devices. Hence many researchers are working in the field of lightweight computing. The concept of IoT is now accepted by many applications, for example, Smart Homes, Smart Cities, Smart Metering, Industrial IoT, IoHT, V2V and many more. These applications are equipped with many constrained devices having limited batteries, low storage and short-range communication capabilities. The secure communication between a constrained and an unconstrained device as well as the secure communication between two constrained devices is challenging in IoT. Applying lightweight device identification techniques, writing lightweight mutual authentication protocols, and providing the facility of lightweight encryption/decryption is the need of the hour.
Researchers from all over the globe working in different domains of network security, algorithm design, communication technology, cryptography, etc. are invited to submit their original work in this issue. The topic for this issue is suggested below:
(1) Addressing of the devices in an IoT environment
(2) Device identification in an IoT environment
(3) Lightweight mutual authentication
(4) Random number generation for security in IoT
(5) Lightweight key generation using genetic algorithm
(6) Lightweight key generation using digital circuit artifacts
(7) Lightweight key generation using simple mathematics
(8) Lightweight hash design for security in IoT
(9) Sponge based hash design for security in IoT
