Abstract: The research titled "Women Participation in Local Government: A Study of Women Members from Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan District" investigates the extent of women's political engagement and their leadership capabilities within the specific context of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan. The research employs a combination of primary and secondary data sources, primarily utilizing interview schedules with 61 female local-level leaders. The study's focal points include the challenges faced by women leaders, their capacity to assume leadership roles, and their backgrounds in political and social work. The findings reveal that women in political leadership roles are gradually developing their leadership skills despite encountering hurdles such as limited knowledge in their mandated responsibilities at the local level. These women typically lacked prior political and social work experience, primarily engaging in household and community-based activities. However, they have now transitioned into roles focused on social services, community development, and women's rights advocacy as representatives of their communities. Despite their education, they continue to grapple with societal patriarchal norms. The study also highlights the importance of leadership and women empowerment training, legal education, and the use of quotas by political parties, which have contributed to the increased presence of female political leaders at the local level. These barriers are intricately linked to societal structures and personal capacities. Interestingly, educated and socially active women leaders are actively encouraging other women in their communities to engage in politics for the broader goal of social transformation and empowerment, fostering a sense of unity among women leaders for collective community upliftment.

Abstract: The current study focusses on the features of land acquisition for new mining-related displacement, industrial facilities, and relocation occurring in different regions of West Bengal, India, as well as the widely differing local socioeconomic challenges. The study identifies the causes of major human rights issues as well as barriers to government laws and humanitarian aid organisations. Additionally, this study uncovers a number of facets of West Bengal's bulk land acquisition cases and related problems. As a result, the purchase of land for coal mining and the development of new enterprises is becoming a violent enterprise with little consideration for the human cost of the devastation and suffering it causes. The work explores the intricate aspects of land acquisition. Acquisition policy of the state government and public response regarding land acquisition for the creation of new sector along with the expansion of current industry. The results concentrate on different aspects of bulk land acquisition instances in West Bengal and the challenges linked to it.

The Internationalization of Pre-service Education During the Post Pandemic Period

Abstract: The global pandemic has significantly impacted education systems worldwide, including pre-service teacher education. As countries begin to recover and transition into the post-pandemic period, the internationalization of pre-service education has emerged as a critical consideration. This study focused the internationalization of pre-service teacher education in the Philippines during the post-pandemic period. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining survey-questionnaires administered to 60 pre-service teachers, 20 teacher educators, and 20 teacher education institution (TEI) administrators, along with in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis. Purposive sampling was used, and the survey instrument demonstrated strong reliability (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.80). Findings reveal key barriers to internationalization, including limited institutional support, language constraints, and policy gaps. Conversely, opportunities were identified in curriculum integration of global competencies, faculty development programs, virtual mobility strategies, and the establishment of national frameworks. The study concludes by recommending the strengthening of institutional support, enhancement of faculty development, and promotion of collaborative initiatives to advance the internationalization of pre-service education programs in the Philippines.
