About This Special Issue
The field of energy is an interdisciplinary academic focus addressing urgent global challenges such as climate change, energy transition, security, and sustainability. Research spans renewable energy, technology, economics, and policy to build resilient systems. Academic interest focuses on decarbonization, smart infrastructures, and energy literacy.
Energy storage and conversion are crucial for enabling a transition to renewable energy by bridging the gap between generation times and demand. They improve grid stability, provide energy for electric vehicles, and maximize economic value via arbitrage. These technologies are mandatory for reducing dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating climate change.
This special issue summarizes the latest advances and applications of energy storage and conversion technologies. The presented works offer valuable references for the development of related research in the field of energy. The primary goal of this special issue is to highlight strategies for designing energy storage and conversion solutions that are not only high-performing at the nanomaterial level but also for industrial and grid-scale applications. We invite contributions that explore nanomaterials for energy storage and conversion, with particular interest in batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, prototyping, and battery recycling, thermal storage and other energy storage technologies.
Types of articles welcomed: Original research articles, review articles, case studies, and short communications.
